Partner Spotlight: Carla Pavone

Carla Pavone’s involvement with SVP began last summer when she attended EPCON with her husband, Morris Stockberger. Carla is a Senior Instructor at the University of Minnesota. She attended the conference in search of course material for her entrepreneurship course. When asked why she joined SVP Carla will tell you the timing was right. Having recently returned to the Twin Cities full time after teaching at the University of Missouri, Carla was looking for an opportunity to reconnect with the Twin Cities. SVP, she found, was a wonderful way to do so.

Carla jumped into SVP feet first when she stepped into the role of Lead Partner for the A-List. Carla’s involvement has not stopped there. In June she went above and beyond the role of Lead Partner when she took on the role of A-List interim Executive Director. She has dedicated herself to the organization while maintaining her full-time teaching career.

Though much of her time is spent within the A-List, her favorite part of SVP is getting to know the partners. She says it may sound corny, but it has truly been an inspirational experience getting to learn from and work with SVP partners.

In addition to her volunteer work with SVP, she served on the founding board of Achieve Minneapolis, an organization that has gone above and beyond what she had ever imagined.

When Carla is not teaching and inspiring students about entrepreneurship at the U of M, or working with the A-List, you might see her biking around the Twin Cities. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Morris and two sons, Eric (19) and Andrew (21).
