Here are some great opportunities for you to join SVP in supporting youth throughout the Twin Cities: Three ways to engage with SVP: 1. APPLY FOR A GRANT SVP Applications are now being accepted for SVP’s 2023 grant cycle for youth-serving organizations in the Twin Cities 7-county metro area. Grant recipient(s) will receive a multi-year partnership that includes grant funding PLUS pro bono consulting to help support organizational capacity and impact building projects. We prioritize BIPOC-led, 501(c)3 nonprofit, youth-serving organizations that work with under-resourced youth ages 12-24 year-olds. (See our website for more eligibility information and to review the 2023 Grant Information Session presentation deck.) In addition to a multi-year funding partnership, we will also be offering the next SVP MN Impact Accelerator Cohort. This is ideal for smaller or newer nonprofits for organizations who will participate in a cohort learning model with other nonprofit leaders to learn more about nonprofit management and leadership topics. Impact Accelerator Cohort members also receive a small grant award for their organization. Please check our website regularly for grant updates. 2. BECOME AN SVP PARTNER Do you have professional experiences in the areas of Finance, Business Management, Communications and Marketing, Human Resources, or Strategic Planning? Are you interested in giving your time, talent and treasures to help grow some of the most impactful, youth-serving organizations in the Twin Cities? Saturday July 15, 11:00-1:00pm: One of SVP MN’s Impact Accelerator Cohort members, Planting People, Growing Justice is hosting Literacy Day. This superhero-themed literacy day is a fun way to kick off summer reading with book giveaways and free food. All are welcome to dress up as superheroes and get a book to read at our family-friendly FREE community event. Click here for more information. Friday July 28, 4:00-10:00pm: Bridgemakers, an SVP MN Investee, is hosting a Midsummer Block Party with Young Peoples Creative Outlet (YIPCO). Bridgemakers has also launched Bridge2Success – a Tech Entrepreneur Fellowship program powered by Full Stack Saint Paul. This fellowship program is being offered in partnership with the city of Saint Paul and is designed for young tech-focused entrepreneurs (ages 18-25), prioritizing youth from low-income backgrounds, youth of color, or youth otherwise facing the most adversity. The Fellowship runs for six months and will commence later this summer. The fellowship provides $1,200 per month for 6 months to support living and other expenses.
