SVP Community Newsletter – July 2023

It’s summer in Minnesota and youth programming is heating up!   Here are some great opportunities for you to join SVP in supporting youth throughout the Twin Cities:

Three ways to engage with SVP:

1. APPLY FOR A GRANT

SVP
MN’s Grant Cycle is NOW OPEN! All applications are due by July 20th by 5:00pm (CST).

Applications are now being accepted for SVP’s 2023 grant cycle for youth-serving organizations in the Twin Cities 7-county metro area. Grant recipient(s) will receive a multi-year partnership that includes grant funding PLUS pro bono consulting to help support organizational capacity and impact building projects.

We prioritize BIPOC-led, 501(c)3 nonprofit, youth-serving organizations that work with under-resourced youth ages 12-24 year-olds. (See our website for more eligibility information and to review the 2023 Grant Information Session presentation deck.) In addition to a multi-year funding partnership, we will also be offering the next SVP MN Impact Accelerator Cohort. This is ideal for smaller or newer nonprofits for organizations who will participate in a cohort learning model with other nonprofit leaders to learn more about nonprofit management and leadership topics.  Impact Accelerator Cohort members also receive a small grant award for their organization.

2. BECOME AN SVP PARTNER

Do you have professional experiences in the areas of Finance, Business Management, Communications and Marketing, Human Resources, or Strategic Planning?  Are you interested in giving your time, talent and treasures to help grow some of the most impactful, youth-serving organizations in the Twin Cities? We are actively recruiting new
Partners to join our SVP team and help further our mission.

At SVP MN, we believe stronger nonprofits deliver stronger results. It’s that simple.  We need Partners who have the interest and capacity to work alongside amazing youth-serving organizations, and join an effective community of engaged philanthropists.  We believe that Collective Action leads to Collective Impact!  To learn more about how to become a part of this team of changemakers, visit our website.

3. BECOME AN SVP FELLOW

We are actively recruiting our next cohort of SVP Fellows. The SVP Fellows program is a two-year skills-based volunteer experience for community-minded professionals, leaders and social entrepreneurs who are Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color who:

• Believe better futures are imperative for under-resourced youth
• Seek to use their skills to collaborate with nonprofits on organizational capacity building projects
• Demonstrate a commitment to racial equity and
  eliminating systemic injustices
• Desire working shoulder-to-shoulder with others on highly strategic initiatives
• Are eager to hone current skills and learn new skills via a cohort experience
• Are critical thinkers and embrace SVP’s vision that every young person’s future unfolds uncompromised by systemic injustice.

SVP Fellows will also be an integral part of the team that reviews and determines our next round of grant recipients.  For more information, check our website for the nomination and application process.
